Chris Lewallen

Chris Lewallen, 63, of Carterville, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Blairsville Cemetery, with reflections by his family. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m., at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville.

Chris was born on March 20, 1955, in Champaign, Illinois, to A.B. and Madeline (Buchanon) Lewallen.

He is survived by his children, Christy Lewallen of Carterville, Dawn Lewallen of Oregon, Heath Lewallen of Carterville, Shay Lewallen of Carterville, and Tyler Lewallen of Carterville; mother, Madeline Lewallen of Champaign; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Mark Lewallen of Houston, Texas,  and Michael Lewallen of Champaign; sisters, Nan Mosele of Joliet, Mia Lewallen of Champaign, and Amy Gendreau of Champaign; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by his father.

He was a carpenter.
